# EyeGrid

> EyeGrid is an AI surveillance system that watches your existing cameras and video feeds, understands what happens, and tells you the moment it matters. Tagline: "Stop recording. Start responding." It turns passive surveillance into instant, actionable safety.

## What EyeGrid does

- Connects to the cameras you already own over RTSP or ONVIF, or through your existing recorder. No new cameras are required. Works alongside Hikvision, Axis, Dahua and Hanwha cameras and Milestone and Genetec video management systems.
- Trackers and triggers: choose what to watch for, where and when. Built-in trackers include unknown face, known/watchlisted person, person in zone, loitering, vehicle, crowd forming and object left behind. You can also describe a tracker in plain language (for example "someone climbing the fence").
- Automated response: when a tracker fires, the AI verifies the event, attaches the video clip and runs actions within seconds: Slack, Microsoft Teams, SMS, email, webhooks, alarms and access control (for example locking a door).
- AI Companion: ask your cameras questions by voice or chat ("Was anyone in the car park after midnight?") and get the exact clip, time and camera.
- Facial recognition: watchlists and VIPs (allow, notify or block lists), unknown-face triggers in restricted areas, and search by face across cameras and recordings.
- Privacy controls: blur faces by default, set retention periods and keep an audit log of every lookup.

## How it works

1. Connect: paste an RTSP link or point EyeGrid at your recorder. Existing cameras come online in minutes.
2. Define trackers: choose what to watch for, where and when, or describe it in your own words.
3. Respond automatically: each trigger notifies people, calls your systems and keeps the clip as evidence.
